IT Consultant Interview

This is an interview of an IT consultant staff member whom we employed at Webnet IT.

How did you find your job?
I met a Webnet IT Recruitment Consultant through a web based recruitment service, and he selected me for a position at Webnet IT.

What kind of job do you have now?
I’m currently doing desktop support and IT consulting for Webnet IT clients.

How does the new job differ from the old one?
I was working as an internal IT Engineer at a large company for 6 years.  Up until now, I have simply done the work I was assigned.  However at Webnet IT, every day I have to think by myself and use my initiative.

In what way did your recruitment consultant help you?
My recruitment consultant advised me on the procedures of changing companies, and helped me through the transition process.

What could they do that would have been difficult for you to do?
At first, I was very worried about changing my job.  However after my Recruitment Consultant explained the company environment and how Webnet IT works for clients, I became re-assured and confident.

What was the interview process like?
1.  First contact was by mail.
2.  Meeting with the Recruitment Consultant
3.  Interview with the CEO
4.  Interview with the Sales Manager
5.  Invitation to informal company nomikai, met company staff.
6.  Technical Skills Test
7.  Job Offer

How were you able to prepare for the interviews?
Firstly, you shouldn’t hide your thoughts and feelings.  It’s important to explain your experience, attitudes and principals in relation to work.
Before the interview process, you should be ready to communicate this to your interviewer.

What follow up did you have to do after the interviews?
The Webnet IT consultant followed up consistently, so I didn’t have to do anything.
 
How long did the whole process take?
When I first received a mail from the Webnet IT consultant, I was overseas working for my previous employer.  Even after coming back to Japan, I couldn’t immediately leave my job. 

This means that the entire process actually took over 8 months, but since the consultant stayed in regular contact with me, I had a good feeling about Webnet IT.

Are you satisfied with the service you received?
Yes, I’m very satisfied.

Would you recommend Webnet IT to friends looking for careers in international companies?
I would definitely recommend Webnet IT.  In fact, I have already introduced some friends to Webnet IT, and they’re in the middle of finding new jobs right now.
